Taiwanese Ta Chen’s revenue drops in Q1

Ta Chen International, Inc. (TCI), a leading distributor of stainless, aluminum and nickel alloy products in Taiwan, announced its revenue of around NT$1.17 billion from January to March this year, a year-on-year decrease of 9.9%.

Ta Chen had a good performance in the same period last year due to the anti-dumping investigation toward China’s aluminum coil and sheet. Before the US announced the anti-dumping duty, many US distributors bought a lot of quantity for its inventory.

Therefore, the import volume was much more than in the same period in 2019. Affected by the anti-dumping issue, the US’ performance was less this year. According to Ta Chen, the stainless coil/sheet exports to the US in the first quarter were almost as same as those in the same period in 2018.
